Transparent Pricing
Bun Intended Gluten Free Goodies is committed to providing fair and transparent pricing for all of our products and services. Below is the process we use to determine the pricing of a menu item:
First, we determine the cost to make one of each recipe item
- We take the total cost of each ingredient and divide it by the number of ounces used in a recipe.
- We then divide 5% of our overhead costs by the total number of menu items we have.
- We divide that number by the total recipe yield
- We add that sum to the total cost of the ingredients.
- We then divide the total amount of labor hours (figured using the current NJ minimum wage or $15.49) for each item by the total amount of the item (example: if a dozen donuts takes 1 hour to make, we divide $15.49 by 12).
Once we have the cost per item:
- We multiply that number by the quantity amount of each type of order (dozen, half dozen, single, etc.).
- We add a 35% markup to that number.
That’s a lot of jargon! Here’s an in practice example of what that looks like (please note, the following example is NOT one of our menu items and is simply an example with rounded numbers to make our policy easier to understand):
